GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Authorities have identified a woman found dead in a freezer that someone bought from a North Carolina yard sale for $30.

WRAL reported that Goldsboro police identified the body was 75-year-old Arma Ann Roush.

The woman bought the freezer from the yard sale about three weeks ago, but said she didn’t open it immediately.

The unidentified woman said she bought the freezer from her neighbor, who told her she had been using it as a “time capsule” for a project with her Sunday school class. The church was supposed to come by and pick up items inside the freezer, but no one ever showed up.

An autopsy listed Roush’s death as “unknown” with no apparent signs of foul play. The freezer and the body have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Roush was last seen alive in August of last year, according to WRAL. Authorities are still investigating how the body ended up in the freezer.

Roush’s daughter, 56-year-old Marcella Jean Lee, has been charged with failing to report her death. Police are still looking for Lee.
