Police identify man shot, injured in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police have identified a man shot and injured at his home Friday as Jesus Manuel Lopez.

Police said the victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound after officials responded to the 400 block of Piedmont Way shortly before 4 p.m. in reference to a need of medical assistance.

The victim was taken to UNC Hospital where he was last known to be in surgery, police said.

Witnesses in the area saw two black males leaving the area on foot in close proximity to the shooting incident. These individuals are suspected of being involved in the shooting.

Witnesses were able to complete composite drawings of the suspects which can be viewed above.
