OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Police knew something was wrong.
Not only was he driving erratically but a body was halfway through his car’s windshield.
Police noticed the vehicle after seeing what looked like a man lying on the hood of the car while the car was moving along Main Street Monday night, reported WPIX.
The driver had hit a man after veering onto the shoulder of the road. He then continued driving for more than a mile before an officer stopped him.
Police arrested the driver, 33-year-old Marcos A. Ortega after he failed sobriety tests. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash and causing serious bodily injury to a person while driving under the influence.
The victim, 61-year-old Kenneth Moeller was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
