SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A sign that was posted on the front door of an Ohio pizzeria is quickly going viral.

Bada Bing! Pizzeria posted a sign Tuesday that read:

“We will be closed on Thanksgiving day. However, we will be having dinner here around 2pm with our family, employees, and friends. If you are hungry, or don’t have any money, please come in. We will welcome you and make sure you get plenty to eat.”

A photo of the sign received thousands of likes on Facebook after the restaurant owners posted it.

Jason Hague, the owner of the pizzeria, told ABC 22 the response from the community has been overwhelming.

“I mean we’re still closed, but we’ll be open,” he said. “We’ll open up our hearts and our dining room so if anyone wants Thanksgiving dinner they’re more than welcome to join us.”

Hague said he was originally only planning for about 15 family members but based on the amount of reach his post had on social media, now he’s not sure how many to expect.

“If we’re able to feed even one hungry person, I’m fine with that,” Hague said. “But if it turns out to be something more monumental, we’ll think about doing something next year for sure.”
