GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Husband and wife officiants from All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad are offering their services for free if a federal judge lifts North Carolina’s ban on same sex marriage.
Combined Reverend Jac and Liz Grimes have officiated weddings of any denomination or no denomination at all for five years.
The Grimes want to offer their services for free as a way to give back to the gay and lesbian community in a celebration of love.
“The right of any two consenting adults to get married does not infringe on anyone else’s right to marry the person they love,” Rev. Liz Grimes said.
The Grimes told FOX8 the day the amendment is ruled unconstitutional, they will clear their schedules and marry anyone outside the county register of deeds (in High Point & Greensboro) with a marriage license and two witnesses.
North Carolina’s ban on gay marriage could be overturned as soon as Thursday.
