Homicide investigation underway after victim dies from injuries in Greensboro shooting

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting in Greensboro on Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from Greensboro police.

The shooting was reported at 2:18 p.m. in the 1800 block of Merritt Drive.

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Eugenais Jimmy Pierre, of High Point, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

There is no word on what led up to the shooting and no suspect information has been released.
