Person critically injured in Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was critically injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning in Fayetteville.

It happened around 2:52 a.m. along Northumberland Street near the South Reilly Road intersection.

When police arrived to the scene, they found one person had been shot by an unknown suspect.

The unidentified victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.

The incident is still under investigation. Further details have not been released at this time.
