Pedestrian hit by vehicle, injured in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Winston-Salem, according to police.

Police said Ashley Nicole Wodhanil, 30, of Reidsville, in the 1300 block of Hawthorne Road early Saturday morning.

The vehicle was headed west on Hawthorne Road toward Knollwood Street and the pedestrian was walking south across Hawthorne Road, according to police.

The pedestrian was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with life threatening injuries, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and other details surrounding the incident have not been released.
