CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera said during a press conference Friday afternoon that he has no new information on linebacker Luke Kuechly and he is still under concussion protocol.

Kuechly was carted off the field to be evaluated for a concussion after he collided with New Orleans Saints running back Tim Hightower in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's 23-20 win.

In the press conference, Rivera called Kuechly a warrior, saying "he loved the game." He also thanked the fans for their outpouring of support.

Kuechly, who led the team with 14 tackles before he left, was in tears immediately after the injury.

The fifth-year linebacker missed three games last season with a concussion. They were the first he had missed his entire career.

Kuechly has been named to the Pro Bowl three times and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

The Panthers (4-6) play the Oakland Raiders (7-2) on Nov. 27.
