WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Sweet Potatoes restaurant will be getting a new home next year, but it’s only moving down the block, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

As part of the move, owners Stephanie Tyson and Vivian Joiner will open up a second, smaller restaurant next door.

Tyson and Joiner have been trying to find a way to expand for several years now, and moving turned out to be their best option.

Construction is set to begin this month in the building at 607 N. Trade St., next to Piedmont Craftsmen. That’s about one block north of the current restaurant at 529 N. Trade St.

Tyson said they hope to have the new space ready by May 2017.
