Chad Smith chatted with FOX8's Julie Grant and Cindy Farmer Friday morning about the loss of his big pink truck.

"I just thought it was a joke," he said upon first learning his truck had been torched.

But investigators say the truck, which Smith used to travel around the country to raise awareness about the benefit of cancer screenings and visiting cancer patients, was burned early Thursday morning. Investigators told Smith that an accelerant was used to torch the vehicle..

The truck known as “One Bad Chad” has been around for one year.

"One person's act of doing something bad is not going to make me run away from something," he said. "I'm gonna jump with both feet in and rebuild the truck. I've got a huge group of supporters who want to help me with this.  We're gonna make it a bigger and better and pinker truck."
