DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — One person was shot and seriously injured in Davidson County’s Reedy Creek community.

The sheriff’s office responded to a possible armed robbery call at 337 Old Mill Farm Road, near Lexington, Tuesday at 8:24 a.m.

Randy Collins said he was driving home after dropping his children off at school and saw deputies responding.

“The place was swarming with cops and I didn’t know what was going on,” Collins said.

Kimberly Carluccio said with her young son in the home, the reported shooting put her on edge.

“It’s scary, all of us on this road have families,” she said.

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Tuesday afternoon, the victim is out of surgery.

The sheriff’s office believes the victim was targeted and it was not a random attack.

According to a spokesperson, investigators have identified everyone involved in the shooting and will present information gathered to the District Attorney’s Office.

No arrests have been made.
