HIGH POINT, N.C. — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in High Point early Monday morning.

The head-on crash happened around 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Eastchester Drive at Deep River Road.

Ryan Yoemans, 35, was traveling northbound on Eastchester, and Jabriel Turner, 18, was traveling southbound on Eastchester when the two vehicles collided.

Turner and Yoemans were both transported to Mose Cone Hospital, where Yoemans died while receiving treatment.

Turner has serious, but non-life-threating injuries. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while consuming alcohol while under 21.

Additional charges are pending.

All lanes of Eastchester Drive should be open prior to rush hour traffic.
