One dead, two injured in Surry Co. wreck

SURRY CO., N.C. — Officials said one man is dead and two others hospitalized after a multiple-vehicle car wreck Friday night in Surry County.

Names of the victims were not released. Authorities said a female was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Health and a male was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Health with serious injuries. 

The crash occurred on Zephyr Road near W.R. Gillespie Road around 8 p.m. just outside Dobson Town limits. 

Officials did not release specific details about the wreck, but said the vehicles involved included a passenger car and a dually truck.

The investigation is ongoing.
