HIGH POINT, N.C. – Police were called to T. Wingate Andrews High School in High Point after a series of fights were reported at the school.

A school resource officer called police after three fights broke out in quick succession on Thursday, according to High Point Police Department Capt. Mike Kirk.

Nobody was injured and no weapons were used, however one student had a screwdriver, but Kirk said he couldn’t classify it as a weapon just yet.

The school administration is handling the incident until charges are filed, according to Kirk. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Kirk said there were additional officers on the scene to make sure the students could safely leave school. The extra presence remained until school was dismissed at 3:40 p.m.
