NATURAL BRIDGE, Va. -- Check out this video of an elephant helping a Randolph County EMT from Asheboro propose to his girlfriend.

Ian Cavallier recently proposed to his girlfriend Katie at a zoo in Virginia. She said yes.

The elephant even gives her the ring at around the 2:00 mark.

Cavallier sent FOX8 the following message about the proposal:

I really wanted to incorporate an elephant into my proposal to my girlfriend, Katie because she loves elephants a lot. The Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia did elephant rides, so I thought that would be perfect. After contacting the zoo, I found out that they did a “proposal package” with the elephant. So after much planning and making things perfect, I headed up to Natural Bridge, VA with my girlfriend, who didn't know what was going on. When we got close, I had her put on a blindfold. The zoo staff came and led us to the elephant enclosure, and that’s when the video starts. The best part (in my opinion and my fiancée’s) was when the elephant handed her the ring with her trunk. I was very scared that the elephant would either drop or eat it haha, but it went perfectly and better than I could have ever imagined it! After the proposal, to which my fiancée was very surprised, we had the opportunity to pose with the elephant for pictures, feed the elephant, and then ride her together - it was absolutely perfect, and my fiancée loved it!! We are getting married October 10th of this year, and tomorrow we are celebrating being together for 1 year!
