Tree knocks out power in Greensboro for over 3000 customers

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A fallen tree is causing multiple outages.

Duke Energy reported over 2400 outages in the area of Lake Brandt Road and Lawndale Drive around 9:45 a.m. Those were resolved.

Then just after 10:00 a.m. more outages were reported near the Lindley Park area, resulting in over 3000 customers losing power.

The large tree fell on Brice Street, near the Elam Avenue area. Crews are still working to remove it, but the power has been restored for most of the impacted customers.

Crews are working to get the area clear.
