Teen killed in Winston-Salem drive-by shooting identified

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A teen was killed and a second person was injured in a drive-by shooting in Winston-Salem on Wednesday evening, according to Winston-Salem police investigators.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Manchester Street and Northeast 25th Street around 5 p.m.

Jaheim Tavion Davis, 18, of Winston-Salem, was killed and a 56-year-old Winston-Salem man was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to their hand.

The 56-year-old victim was not an intended target of the shooting and was hit as the shooters were firing indiscriminately, Winston-Salem police said in a news release.

Police did not say if Davis was an intended target of the shooting.

No suspect information has been released.
