GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A person was killed in an early morning shooting Tuesday.

At about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday morning, police responded to calls about a shooting in the area of Bragg and Bennett streets.

When they got to the scene, they found Brandon Montrial Smith, 28, of Greensboro, with a gunshot wound. Smith died from injuries sustained in the shooting.

Police say they are now investigating the case as a homicide.

Officers cleared the scene a little after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
