HIGH POINT, N.C. – A High Point man was arrested for homicide after a Kannapolis woman was killed in her home.
Police say Demontrel Deonta Murphy, 26, of High Point is accused of murdering Yulanda Basica Hollis, 49, of Kannapolis, after Hollis was found at her home in Kannapolis suffering from a gunshot wound.
She died before she could be transported to the hospital.
According to police, Murphy had a relationship with Hollis’s daughter.
High Point police took Murphy into custody and he will be transferred to Cabarrus County.
