ELKIN, N.C. (WGHP) — A gun was found at Elkin Elementary School on Friday, according to a statement released by Elkin City Schools.

Interim Superintendent Tracee McManus says no one was hurt.

It’s not clear at this time how the gun was found or who had it.

The school district is working with the Elkin Police Department to investigate the situation.
