ASHEBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina Zoo is offering certain attractions for free during “Visitor Appreciation Day” on Sunday.
Zoo officials said the free attractions include the movie “Rio the 4-D Experience,” the zoo’s 36-foot Endangered Species Carousel and the exhibit “Bugs: An Epic Adventure.”
The Bugs exhibit features 13 animatronic bugs nearly 20 feet high, according to park officials. Some invertebrates are also on display including a rose hair tarantula, desert hairy scorpion and a hermit crab.
The free attractions offered at the park on Sunday would normally cost visitors an extra $11 with individual tickets, according to organizers. The event is open to the public.
