North Carolina has been named the cheapest state in the country for car insurance, with residents paying 41 percent less than the national average.
Cars.com reported that everyone’s car insurance rate depends on more than just where they live. Driving history, age and the kind of car all play a part.
Other cheap states for car insurance include Idaho, Ohio, Maine and Wisconsin. The nationwide annual average is $815.
The most expensive state for car insurance was Michigan, with residents paying 136 percent more than the national average. It was followed by Rhode Island, New York and Delaware.
The numbers were based on a new study from Quadrant Information Services and InsuranceQuotes.com.
