WILMINGTON, N.C. — A man in Wilmington yelled for his mom while he was trying to escape police.
Emmanuel Taylor was on pretrial release for charges related to possession of a stolen vehicle, according to WECT.
Police tried to pull Taylor over while he was driving a moped. That’s when he jumped off and ran into a home yelling for his mom.
Officers inspected the moped and discover it was stolen.
Police took Taylor into custody after they found him hiding in the home.
He was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting an officer, reckless driving and failure to stop for sirens.
According to WECT he was charged for heroin trafficking in 2014.
