KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Cam Newton giving footballs to little kids after scoring a touchdown for the Carolina Panthers has become a beloved trademark for the team.
WBTV reported that it happened to a 9-year-old from Kannapolis on Sunday as the Panthers beat the New York Giants.
Newton gave the football to young Zachary Barham, who said he plans on keeping it in a “very special place.”
Barham said Newton also gave him a “fist bump” and referred to him as his favorite player.
The Panthers are now 14-0 for the first time in franchise history after defeating the Giants 38-35 Sunday in New Jersey. Carolina faces the Atlanta Falcons (7-7) next Sunday.
