GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A nonprofit broke ground Friday on a new building to house homeless veterans.
The Servant Center already has one apartment building to help people who have served out country.
"I hear the stories of the guys that stay at our Servant House shelter, and it's just heartwarming and wonderful to know you can help them and help change their lives. They thank you all the time and they're very appreciative," said Shanna Reece with the Servant Center.
The new home will cost about $1 million to build. Money for the new building came from the city of Greensboro and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.
