CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A “medical emergency” for Nickelback’s lead singer Chad Kroeger has forced the band to cancel the remainder of their North American tour, including a concert in Charlotte in August.
Band mates Ryan Peake and Mike Kroeger explained in a YouTube video Tuesday their frontman has been diagnosed with an operable cyst in his voice box.
Nickelback canceled shows over the weekend, hoping the added rest and treatment would help, but Kroeger’s diagnoses proved too serious to continue the tour.
The Charlotte concert was scheduled for Aug. 28.
The band said they hope to keep their schedule on track for their European tour starting in September.
