CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Baltimore Ravens cornerback has been charged with DWI in Charlotte after being pulled over for driving 100 in a 55 mph zone.
WSOC reported that 22-year-old Victor Hampton faces charges of DWI, speeding, reckless driving and open container charges.
Investigators said a trooper clocked a convertible Camaro headed at 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 77 at about 12:26 a.m. Saturday.
When the trooper pulled the car over and approached it, he said he saw two passengers trying to hide firearms under the front seat.
Hampton’s blood-alcohol level was .10, slightly above the legal .08 limit, according to officials. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Mecklenburg County jail where he later posted bond.
Both passengers have been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and one was charged with possessing marijuana.
Hampton is listed as a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens. The former University of South Carolina Gamecock signed with the NFL team earlier this year.
