MOORESVILLE, N.C. — WSOC has issued a correction and retraction, apologizing for a series of articles published about a controversial yearbook photo.

The articles were published starting on May 23 and involved a graduating female student at Lake Norman High School in Mooresville accused of lifting up her graduation gown and purposefully exposing herself.

WSOC said that it appears that the girl did not intentionally raise her gown and the original accusation is from an unsupported opinion of a parent.

“WE DEEPLY REGRET THESE ERRORS, HAVE REMOVED THE FORMER POSTED ARTICLES AND COMPLETELY RETRACT AND CORRECT THEM,” WSOC wrote on their website, in all caps.
