Mantua Township, N.J. — A New Jersey son is facing murder charges after he allegedly beat his parents to death on Friday.

Ryan Coles, 28, is charged with the murders of 58-year-old Edward Coles Jr. and 55-year-old Rosemarie Coles, according to the South Jersey Times.

A relative found the couple dead in their home at about 11:30 a.m. and Ryan Coles was still in the house when authorities arrived.

Police believe the son beat them with his hands and with another unknown weapon.

After a medical examination, he was taken to the Salem County Correctional Facility and is being held on a $1 million bond.
