HIGH POINT, N.C. -- It’s without question that the Piedmont Triad attracts furniture shoppers from around the world.

Now, shopping for products may become easier for visitors and residents.

The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau has released the first edition of its Furniture Design Guide for High Point and surrounding areas.

The guide includes listings for 70 furniture retail stores and showrooms.

In conjunction to the hand-held guide available at the Regional Visitors Center, there are also four kiosks that allow people to select furniture by style, product or manufacturer.

Based on the shopper’s selections, the program will show stores that have the furnishings the shopper wants to purchase.

Along with the Furniture Design Guide, the center offers interior design services to connect visitors directly with preferred designers.

"We thought it was very important to offer that tool because so many visitors come to town and want to get into the showroom to shop, and we all know it’s to the trade only,” Joyce Allen-Crawford, visitor center manager at High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau, said.

“The other way they can gain access is through our wonderful designers,” she added.

The design guide can be picked up at the Regional Visitors Center at 1634 N. Main St. in High Point, or accessed online as an interactive guide.
