ASHEBORO, N.C. — Ceramic sections that will become a 22-foot totem pole structure will be installed at the North Carolina Zoo Monday in Asheboro.

Mike Ferree, a pottery instructor at Montgomery Community College and Lenton Slack, a retired design instructor at Randolph Community College, will install the sections.

Nineteen pieces were created by 22 pottery students at MCC as an assignment for a workshop conducted by Slack.
