BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina woman who won a $188 million lottery jackpot last year has been served criminal summons.
According to court documents obtained by WECT, Marie Holmes is accused of making threatening and harassing phone calls to Lorna Marlowe on Jan. 10.
Marlowe filed complaints on the same day.
The criminal summons alleged Holmes threatened to inflict bodily harm on Marlowe and repeatedly called her for the purpose of harassing her.
Holmes is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12. If she does not appear, an order for her arrest may be issued, WECT reports.
Holmes has made headlines in connection to her boyfriend, Lamarr Andre McDow, who has had his own share of legal troubles. She was also charged with drug possession in July 2015.
She was presented with $188 million after providing one of the three winning tickets for the Feb. 23, 2015, Powerball drawing.
