WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – A North Carolina woman faces her second DWI charge this year after officials said she crashed into another car head-on, causing a fiery crash.
WNCN reported that 21-year-old Julia Margaret Fritschel also faces other charges including careless and reckless driving and driving with an open container of alcohol.
The crash happened on Interstate 40 westbound at about 6 a.m. Sunday in Wake County, according to authorities.
The suspect was allegedly driving an Audi passenger car the wrong way on the interstate and slammed head-on to a PT Cruiser.
The PT Cruiser caught fire and the driver inside, 41-year-old Chandra Waletha Green, was seriously injured, according to reports.
The suspect was charged with a different DWI on May 28 of this year.
