FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies have arrested a woman accused of injuring her young son on two separate occasions.
The Fayetteville Observer reported that Teresa Marie Fowler, 33, of Fayetteville, was charged Friday with child abuse inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor child abuse.
Officials said her 8-year-old son was struck in the face with a video game controller in March. He allegedly suffered a small laceration and a black eye.
The suspect was convicted in 2009 of felony child abuse inflicting serious injury after hitting her then 4-year old child with a vacuum cleaner attachment.
Authorities said the child was left with a laceration on the top of his head, requiring staples.
Fowler was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2,000 unsecured bond and has court planned for Monday.
