CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina teenager was arrested and charged after he allegedly shot a BB gun into a school bus full of students.

WSOC reports 17-year-old Jose Delgado is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm within city limits.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the teenager claims he was firing at a target in his front yard and accidentally hit a bus carrying 48 students, shattering the back window.

Parents, who checked on their children after the incident, are trying to make sense of the situation.

“He’s telling me that a window’s been shot out and he’s scared and he’s asking me to come get him,” said Kevin Wilson, whose 10-year-old son was on the bus.

Parents and children were upset, but no one was injured in the incident.
