NC student hit by car while boarding school bus

APEX, N.C.– An 11-year-old boy was hit by a car early Tuesday on Johnson Pond Road near Oak Park Drive in Apex, reported WRAL.

Investigators responded to the area shortly after 7 a.m. Family members said the boy, Michael Burgess, was trying to board a school bus when he was hit.

Burgess is sixth-grader at West Lake Middle School, family members said.

He was taken to the hospital following the wreck and his condition has not been released.

No other details about the accident have been released.
