NC sex offender arrested after lurking in children’s section of library

KINSTON, N.C. — A registered sex offender was arrested for being in the children’s section of the Kinston/Lenoir County Library, WCTI reported.

Anthony Briggs, 29, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony sex offender on a child premises.

The incident happened May 16 and 17.

Briggs is being held under a $30,000 secured bond.

Officials said Briggs was convicted on August 30, 2006, for a sexual act on a child by parent or caretaker and second-degree sex offense. He was released from the N.C. Department of Correction in late 2014.
