CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. – A North Carolina mother accused of murdering her 2-year-old child created a GoFundMe account to pay for the toddler’s funeral.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that Jeanie Kassandra Ditty, 23, raised more than $6,000 from the website before it was removed.

Ditty and Zachary Earl Keefer, 32, both of Spring Lake, face charges in the death of 2-year-old Macy Grace.

The baby was taken to a hospital on December 2 and died two days later. The child reportedly had bruises over her entire body and internal injuries including a lacerated liver.

The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Macy Grace’s death a homicide last week and police filed charges.

The GoFundMe page claimed that Macy Grace vomited in her sleep and suffocated, causing her brain to swell and shut down her body.

Ditty was recently in the news after she posed for photos by her daughter’s gravesite and had a photographer Photoshop images of her baby as an angel in the photos. The photographer who did the Photoshop job has since spoken out against the suspect.

The suspects are each charged with first-degree murder and negligent child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. Both were jailed in Cumberland County without bond.
