Man killed after falling from loading dock in Denton

DENTON, N.C. — A man fell from a Denton loading dock Thursday and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Denton police responded at 9:17 a.m. to Outdoor Power Equipment, located at 18870 South Highway 109, in reference to an unconscious person who was not breathing.

Charles Jerry Dickson Jr., 59, of Flintstone, Ga., had fallen from a loading dock and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said Dickson was an  out-of-state truck driver delivering equipment.  They do not know what caused him to fall.

The Denton Police Department investigated the incident as an accident and there will be no further investigation.
