GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police have charged a Gaston County man in the shooting death of his girlfriend, according to WBTV.
Jeffrey Chance Eaker, 26, is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of 24-year-old Lacey Marie West.
West was found shot at a home in the 1100 block of Black Road in Cherryville just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to Gaston County officials.
She was taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. West’s boyfriend, who lived at the home where she was found, was then charged.
Eaker is being held in the Gaston County Jail without bond.
Detectives say they are still interviewing other residents who were home when West was shot.
