ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A Swannanoa man was arrested after police say he repeatedly abused his 3-year-old daughter, including making her stand under a cold shower until she lost consciousness.

According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, 19-year-old Daniel Jordan Trammel was charged with six counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Trammel is accused of committing the acts in February and March. Warrants allege that Trammel caused “bruising to her head and face after he forced her to stand under a cold shower, which caused her to lose consciousness and fall, hitting her head on a metal pot that was in the shower.”

Trammel is also accused of “bruising to her face and body by striking her repeatedly, “making her sleep all night in a wet bed, and not feeding her or allowing her anything to drink at all that evening” and causing “injury to her leg by striking her repeatedly.”

Trammel is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $12,000 secured bond.
