JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A high school teacher in Jacksonville is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

WTVD reported that Christopher David Howard, 33, faces three counts of sexual activity with a student by a teacher and four counts of indecent liberties with a student.

Howard is a Jacksonville High School band teacher. Detectives said the student is now 17, but their relationship may have started in 2007 after a band concert.

Authorities said the investigation began when a deputy found Howard together with the student in a parked vehicle at a park.

He was placed in the Onslow County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
