BEAUFORT, N.C. — A fire destroyed a North Carolina fire station and several trucks inside.
WCTI12.com reported that the North River Volunteer Fire Station near Beaufort caught fire around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
The garage of the fire department and all the trucks and equipment inside was ruined, according to authorities.
No injuries were reported. Authorities said the fire is not being investigated as suspicious. Officials said the fire may be weather-related, but no exact cause has been determined.
Firefighters believed the fire started in the truck bay, according to WCTI12. The station did not have insurance.
Firefighters from other stations responded to the scene, as the North River firefighters could not get to their equipment. The Beaufort Fire Department is overseeing the scene.
