MONROE, N.C. — A 3-year-old was killed in an ATV wreck Monday night in Union County, according to WBTV.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. on the 3600 block of Brief Road in Monroe.
Deputies told WBTV that the 3-year-old was thrown off the back of an ATV when she and her older sister hit a bump.
The little girl was rushed to the hospital after hitting her head, but she died just after 8 p.m.
Tony Underwood with the Union County Sheriff’s Office told WBTV the incident was, “an unfortunate tragedy.”
It is unclear whether charges will be filed.
