GRAHAM, N.C. — Multiple wrecks were reported on Interstate 40/85 in both directions in Alamance County on Sunday night.

The wrecks were reported between mile markers 147 and 153. The first one was reportedly shortly before 6 p.m.

There were 134 cars involved and 25 people were injured, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Investigators contributed high speed, following too closely and inattention as causative factors in the accidents.

All lanes were reopened by about 10:30 p.m.

No other details were immediately available. Motorists are urged to avoid the area as much as possible.
