WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two people were shot and several were injured following a fight at a Winston-Salem apartment complex Monday night.

Winston-Salem Police responded to the shooting at the Salem Garden Apartments on Salem Garden Drive around 9:26 p.m.

Six victims were found, two with gunshot wounds.

The incident began as a domestic dispute between Devayne Julius, 23, and Precious Hentz, 21, in which Hentz was assaulted by Julius, according to police.

Police say Precious’ cousin, Reshunda Patterson, 23, came to her aid and ended up being assaulted by Julius as well.

Patterson returned to her apartment and told her boyfriend, Dalonta Spaugh, 25, about the incident. A fight then broke out between Spaugh and Julius.

During the fight altercation, police say an unknown person pointed a gun at Spaugh and threatened to shoot him.

The fight ended, but several gunshots were fired by an unknown person at the building in Salem Gardens.

Two bystanders, who not involved in the fight, were shot.

Jokari Slater, 24, and Crystal Thompson, 24, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the rounds fired entered another apartment, but the occupant was not injured.

Spaugh was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.

The woman were treated at the scene by EMS.

Julius was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on a female and affray. He was placed in the Forsyth County Jail with no bond.

A photo of Julius will not be released at this time.
