Motorcyclist killed in Mount Airy wreck

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Police said a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a guardrail Wednesday night in Mount Airy.

The Mount Airy News reported
that the wreck occurred around 9:54 p.m. on Greenhill Road on a curve just south of the intersection with Montclaire Drive.

The identity of the victim has not been released. Police said the he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Medical officials reportedly tried using CPR but were unable to revive the victim. Officers said the victim was wearing a helmet.
