Mother of NC infant that drowned in Myrtle Beach pond charged with murder

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The mother of a 6-week-old infant from North Carolina found dead in a pond at Myrtle Beach Sunday evening has been charged with murder.

24-year-old Jameisha Ka’Tara Alexander was arrested and charged Tuesday with the murder of her son King Khalil Jair Alexander, WBTW reports.

The child’s body was recovered from a pond near Tanger Outlets Sunday after he allegedly drowned Saturday evening.

The infant’s body was found several hours after Jameisha alledged wrecked her car, reports say. In that time, she did not contact authorities for help.
