Moses Cone Hospital’s North Tower–the biggest construction project in the hospital’s history–will open to patients and visitors next week.

The new, $200 million, six-story, brick and glass structure will house 16 operating rooms and 96 patient rooms.

The building has been designed to help the healing process–from the soothing sounds of a fountain and waterfall outside, to an abundance of windows that allow light to flow in.

After patients are moved into the North Tower next week, the project will continue with the renovation of the hospital’s existing structure.

Cone Health hopes to start using the North Tower as the hospitals main entrance by January.
